Diesel Engine:

An internal-combustion engine in that the fuel is injected into the cylinder near the end of the compression stroke and it is ignited by the heat of the dense air in the cylinder. No spark plug or the carburetor is needed.

Differential:

A differential allows the right and the left wheels to rotate at different RPM. The differential allows the exterior wheel to spin faster to compensate for the greater distance it travels.

Diffusion:

The way in which innovations increase through market or non-market channels.

Drum brakes:

A type of brake that has an iron casting twisted like a shallow drum, which rotates with the wheel. Curved brake shoes are forced into contact with the inner periphery of this beat to provide braking.
