Chrysler announced New Commercial Truck Division

Automover News: Chrysler Group LLC announced a new Commercial Truck Division in Ram Trucks to target  auto transport customers and little companies.

The Ram Trucks Commercial Division will have its individual devoted team in all parts of company that manufacture trucks which consist of product preparing and design announced in a statement by Fred Diaz, President of Ram Trucks to reporters in Auburn Mountains, Michigan.

Fred Diaz also added commercial end of business with all the products that all commercial and truck customers will be able to think Ram. But he refused to name the exact future models.

Chrysler, which is 58% possessed by Italian auto manufacturer Fiat is shortly to introduce Fiat make vans under the Ram brand. The company is planned to launch 2013 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickups along with new Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis cab work trucks on this week at State Fair of Texas in Dallas.

Chrysler starts manufacturing the new heavy duty pickups in January announced in a report by Bob Hegbloom, Director of Ram Trucks. The truck manufacture accelerated the line rate at its heavy-duty truck plant in Saltillo, Mexico, in last month to fulfill demand said in a report by Mike Cairns, head of Ram truck engineering.

Hino Trucks topped J.D. Power 2010 Medium Duty Truck Customer Satisfaction Study

Automover News: Hino Trucks medium duty trucks topped J.D. Power and Associates rankings for customer satisfaction in 2010 Medium Duty Truck Customer Satisfaction Study. According to recent study Hino Trucks ranks highest in customer satisfaction with conventional medium duty engines and ranks highest in customer satisfaction among conventional medium duty trucks for two years running. Quality and reliability are most important aspects of overall satisfaction.

The engine study which is in its fourth year examined customer perceptions of 2010 model year Class 5, 6, and 7 trucks that were equipped with both gasoline and diesel engine system. The study looked at eight factors like engine reliability or dependability, ease of access for service or maintenance, maintaining speed on grades, acceleration when fully loaded, control module, vibration at idle, engine warranty and average fuel economy.

For the Customer Satisfaction Study, which is now in19th year J.D. Power measures perceptions of 2010 model-year Class 5, 6, and 7 commercial trucks. Here six factors are used to determine overall satisfaction engine, warranty, cost of operation, cab and body, ride/handling/braking and transmission. In addition study also measures satisfaction with services received from authorized truck dealer. The factors that are looked are service facility, service quality, service advisor, service initiation, service delivery and service price. Hino Trucks scored highest in all factors for both studies.

Automover News: Mercedes-Benz revealed the Mercedes-Benz Aero Trailer Concept truck on Trailer 2011 show in Kortrijk, Belgium.

Mercedes-Benz Aero Trailer Concept truck was manufactured in cooperation with the Commercial Vehicle Design department. The wind resistance of the truck was reduced by 18 percent, fuel consumption of fuel sysem was reduced virtually five percent and CO2 emissions of the truck also reduced .

The Airdams, trim panels and tapers reduce wind resistance. The front airdam on trailer reduces distance to tractor unit and lowers wind resistance by one percent. The side trim panels contribute eight percent improvement by slightly drawn in at front and characterised by an opening at rear that steers air in direction of striking rear diffuser.

The diffuser links up with underbody panelling which improves the wind resistance by one to two percent. The rear end taper measuring slightly more than 400 mm in length forms a crucial part of the aerodynamic concept. It features folding elements to facilitate access to the load compartment. The rear end taper improves wind resistance by a further seven percent.

The Mercedes-Benz Aero Trailer Concept truck features trailers load compartment. The box measuring 13.6 m in length, 2.55 m in width and with an overall height of four metres remains available for freight. The length measurement exceeds the currently permissible limit by half metre due to tail end extension.

The aero trailer is the flagship of new Truck and Trailer 7plus initiative launched by Mercedes-Benz. By taking a holistic approach to tractor unit and trailer it aims to considerably cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The 2012 Tata Nano with Multicolor

Automover News:  We describes that the New Tata Nano 2012 updated quietly paving the way for Tata showrooms across the country and until its official launch. Tata has now released the official statement on the launch and has also launched a website where you can book a car Tata Nano test. The new 624cc engine Nano 2012 was amended to give 38PS, 35PS against previous and 51Nm of maximum torque of 48Nm earlier. Tata has also managed to increase the energy efficiency of 25kmpl figure of the previous 23.6kmpl Arai certified. The suspension set up was working and now includes a front anti-roll bar. Booster-assisted brakes, which already exist in the Nano CX and LX variants, has now been added to the standard Nano as well. Other external changes LX full wheel covers and a half-wheel drives for the CX and a passenger side mirror was added to both variants.

On the inside, Tata Motors has made subtle changes to the air-conditioning and adopted new interior color schemes – beige in the Nano LX and black in Nano CX, new seat covers and fabrics. The 2012 Tato Nano will now in come in ten fresh colours – Pearl White, Rouge Red, Aqua Blue, Neon Rush, Serene White, Meteor Silver, Mojito Green, Papaya Orange, Sunshine Yellow and Champagne Gold. Some of the new paint schemes are metallic paints, which will mean expensive repair jobs if you’ve got any repainting to do.

The 2012 Tata Nano will be available at the same price- Rs.1.40 lakh for the Standard, Rs.1.70 lakh for the CX and Rs.1.96 lakh for the LX (ex-showroom, Delhi.) All three variants will come with a warranty of 4 years or 60,000km, whichever is earlier. This makes the Nano better value than it was before, and should see sales figures rise correspondingly. We still would like the rumoured five-speed gearbox and power steering upgrade to see the light of day – hopefully they will, along with the diesel engine.

Ford open Bookings for Electric Car 2012

Automover News: People can now place their online orders for the 2012 Ford Focus electric, Ford’s first all-electric passenger car. The electric Focus carries a base sticker price of $39,995 including shipping charges, but that price does not reflect any tax credits available.

The electric Focus  car comes standard with My Ford Touch with an eight-inch touch screen, two 4.2-inch color LCD displays in the gauge cluster for EV monitoring screens, and the My Ford Mobile App for remotely monitoring the charge status of the lithium-ion battery. Ford says the battery can be recharged in about three hours using a 240-volt charging station. Other standard features include HID headlights, a rear camera with a parking sensor, push-button start and voice-activated navigation. Hands-free Bluetooth, a nine-speaker audio system, Sirius satellite radio and HD radio are also included.

The only optional features on Ford Focus Electrics are leather seats and two paint colors. More product specifications, virtual build options and prices are available online where customers can also search for their nearest Ford EV dealers. Focus electrics will first be available in California, New York and New Jersey. Supply will expand to 15 other markets early next year.

The 19 launch markets are: Atlanta; Austin and Houston, Texas; Boston; Chicago; Denver; Detroit; Los Angels; San Francisco; San Diego; New York; Orlando, Fla.; Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz.; Portland, Ore.; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Richmond, Va., Seattle, and Washington, D.C.

Emirates Pushes the 777 to Upgrade

Automover News: Boeing has faced strong criticism from Qatar Airways, Emirates and now 8F delays spurred improvements in the 777. A Boeing emirate wants to achieve a better version of the 777 in the next six months and be ready to enter service in 2018, which very well – two years ago, called two-aisle airplanes will fly over greater distance goods and at least 10 percent less to operate.

The airline is Boeing’s largest 777 customers with around 100 of the aircraft in the fleet, and a further 40 still to come. Retirements are scheduled to start in 2017, so Clark is asking for a replacement that can carry 60 tons (54.4 metric tons) of payload from Los Angeles (US) to Dubai (UAE) – about 7,230 nautical miles (13,390 kilometers). The 777-300ER, which entered service in 2004, can carry roughly that same payload up to about 6,800 nautical miles.

They expressed concerns that the manufacturer will be unable to meet his deadlines, because more work is needed on propulsion amongst other items. Emirates SkyCargo recently transported a 36-tonne rudder part – the heaviest single item ever carried by the freight division. The rudder stock – 9.16 metres long and 1.05 metres wide – was required for urgent repairs to a vessel at Dubai Dry Docks. The part would normally be transported by sea, but shipping through air was required to reduce the cost of the ship being out of service.

In conjunction with Dubai-based charter broker Air Charter International it was transported on a 747-400F from Seoul (South Korea) to Dubai.

Automover News: Considering that Audi already offers the popular mid-size A6 sedan and full sized A8 sedan, one may wonder about the purpose of 2012 A7. Audi A7 fits as the emotional symptom between these two.

The 2012 Audi A7 has four doors and the back seat is well-sized, with plenty of leg room. Yet, because of its coupe-styled body, most people don’t notice the rear doors. The design is so deceptive that some people call it a coupe, others call it a sedan – Audi calls it a Sportback. Here is what causes the deception and the beauty. The long roof is like a movement from the front to the back, which meets the car’s boat tail at the rear. Shoulder line sinks far back. It begins at the front, takes its power from the engine and then sinks slightly to the rear. This combination creates a fresh-looking design, which has got the car a worldwide acclaim. The doors are frameless and the car has a very large cargo space, good for family events.

Rolls-Royce start New Ghost Sedan

Automover News: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd. Wednesday introduced a new variant of its Ghost model in India at a starting price of 30.5 million rupees ($620,865) to meet growing demand for its luxury sedans in Asia’s third-biggest auto market.

The company expects every third car it sells in India to be the new Ghost Extended Wheelbase, said Herfried Hasenoehrl, head of business development for India at Rolls-Royce.

The BMW AG unit has previously said it aims to sell more than 100 cars in India this year, up from the 80 it sold in 2010.

Mr. Hasenoehrl didn’t say how many units of the new model Rolls-Royce plans to sell in India. We are currently in the process of working on how we can and should expand this market. Growth in the number of billionaires in India has led to a spurt in demand for premium and luxury vehicles.

U.K-based Rolls-Royce sells luxury sedans from its two brands, Phantom and Ghost, in India. Its least expensive sedan sells for 27 million rupees in the Indian market.

Hyundai i20 Record Sales in August

Automover News: Hyundai Motor Company Australia (HMCA) has recorded its best-ever August sales result. Hyundai finished in fifth position overall with 7,417 sales achieving a market share of 8.4%. The sales result saw an increase of +13.1% August 2011 v. August 2010 in a total market which was up +7.3% over the same period.

In passenger car sales, HMCA ranked fourth for the month, and fourth YTD with 5,481vehicles sold and a market share of 11.3%. The multi-award winning i20 placed third in the light car segment with its best-ever sales result since launch of 1,163 vehicle sales and a market share of 10.4%.

The new Accent hatch and sedan models arrived in August, alongside the i20 hatch and i30 range, the new Accent offers consumers a range of solutions to their motoring needs in the smaller car market.

Hyundai Motor America (HMA) has announced an August sales figure of 58,505 vehicles, an increase of +9.1% August 2011 v. August 2010. Sales are up +21.3% August YTD versus the same period a year earlier.

Hyundai Motor Company has seen an overall increase in global sales of +5.1% rising from 292,491 in August 2010 to 307,320 in August 2011. Domestic sales also increased by +4% (August 2011 v. August 2010) with 51,322 units sold compared to 49,362 for the same period last year.

Volvo begins Four Cylinder car

Automover News: Volvo is one of the best car companies with boxy-but-safe sedans and wagons. If things go as Volvo management plans, they may soon be known as the safe green car manufacturer. First up is a switch to four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines throughout their lineup. Volvo killed off the V-8 in 2010, but emphasized the use of five- and six-cylinder engines at a time when other automakers were paring back to four-cylinders. Volvo’s new Volvo Environmental Architecture (VEA) strategy is to use four-cylinder common rail diesel and gasoline direct injection engines throughout their product line, a move that Volvo insists will continue to meet customer expectations of the brand.

In fact, Volvo is claiming that the move to a more modern four-cylinder engine will, in some cases, increase both performance and fuel economy. The new engines will share as many common parts as possible, a move that Volvo expects to reduce engine-part inventory by as much as 60 percent. The new drive trains will be lighter, too, in some cases up to 198 pounds lighter than current six-cylinder drive trains. Fuel economy will grow by as much as 35 percent.

The common-parts idea will be carried over to Volvo’s platforms as well; thanks to something Volvo is calling Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA). By using a single, modular platform to build everything from the C30 hatchback up to the S80 sedan, a single production line can be used to build every vehicle in Volvo’s lineup. The SPA architecture will allow future vehicles to be as much as 330 pounds lighter than their current equivalents, with improved weight distribution and the possibility of introducing electrification into the Volvo drive train.
