Automobile production lower than expected

Home automobile production exclusive of motorcycles is predict to be 2.1% lower this year than what was expected, according to Surapong Phaisitpattanapong, spokesman for the automobile industry club of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). The club has modified down its full-year production estimate to 1.257 million units against 1.284 million units predicted originally. Of the total, 626,000 units will now be for domestic sales and 631,000 units for export. The revised figure yet represents 9.1% growth from previous year when 1.176 million vehicles were produced.
