America Asia Petroleum Benefit's China's Automobile Industry

CARSON CITY-- America Asia Petroleum (OTC Pink Sheet: AAPM) has been building business relationships with China, and is about to benefit from the volatile growth of China's automobile industry. China, with a population of 1.2 billion, is on track to become an automotive market alike to the USA. Cell phone ban for new drivers on track

A private member's bill that would ban new drivers from using cell phones and MP3 players behind the wheel of your car is one step closer to becoming law after passing by Ontario legislature today.

The bill, tabled by Oakville Liberal Kevin Flynn, weaves the cell phone ban into few other graduated licensing restrictions as well. It unanimously passed second reading and also goes to committee for debate.

Traffic update given by dialing 511

The Florida Department of Transportation wants to remind the holiday travelers that they could get on-time traffic information from all over the state by dialing 511.

The American Automobile Association expects about 2.2 million Floridians to drive more than 50 miles from home for Thanksgiving existing year. By dialing 511, those drivers could in fact hear information on every thruway highway in Florida and on Florida's Turnpike.

511 is a free service of the FDOT and are accessible from land lines or cell phones, however cell phone would minutes apply.

LG navigates its way into automobile sector

The introduction of the LN series of car navigation systems would now see LG Electronics consolidating its complete portfolio of automotive-related products, where it is also reported an impressive 20 per cent growth during 2005. LG would introduce the range during this year's GITEX exhibition, taking place from November 18 - 23.

'LG's automotive products section has witnessed a stunning growth over the past two years due to unparalleled regional demand for high-tech devices,' explained Mr. C. H. Lee, President, LG Electronics Gulf FZE.

Survey: Price wars lead to car defects

BEIJING, Nov. 20 -- Price wars have now taken a toll on the excellence of locally-made cars with defects reported in 77 percent during the first six months of the use, according to the latest market survey.

The 2006 China Automobile Customer Satisfaction Index (CACSI) displayed major defects involve tires, air conditioning and braking systems, locks and steering wheels as well.

For every 100 new cars, there was an average of 338 defects, little higher than last year's 246.

International Automobile Show moves into top gear

Sharjah: The International Automobile Show started in Sharjah yesterday with thee participation by more than 40 exhibitors.

The five-day event was first inaugurated by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Salem Al Qasimi, chairman of the Sharjah Emiri Court.

The total occupied exhibition space at this event measures 16,000 square meters in addition to the boulevard area and also the tiled area outside the venue.

Oscar of automobile goes to Ford S-Max by Güler

The winner of the prize of the car of this year, known as the Oscars of the automotive world and it has been announced. Turkish designer Murat Güler's Ford S-Max chosen as the car of the year. Opel Corsa graded the second and Citroen C4 Picasso ranked the third.

One killed in an automobile crash

According to the report, a 2006 Ford Focus was banner westbound on the SR 18, just west of Foster Road, when it actually entered the eastbound lanes; it was struck face-to-face by a tractor-trailer.

The driver of the Focus, 16-year-old Terrence T. Haynes of Wellington, Ohio, was dead on spot.

Steven L. Watson, the driver of the tractor-trailer was sustained injuries to his right hand. Watson, 59, is from Rochester, Pennsylvania.

U.S. automobile sector slowdown affects Tomkins profits

LONDON: British engineering firm Tomkins Plc. posted a 22 per cent decline in its third quarter profit, affected by the weakened North American markets. The company, a major supplier of automotive and air conditioner parts, said its pre-tax profits fell from 72.3 million pounds to 56.3 million pounds, while revenue stood at 812.7 million pounds, down 1 per cent.
