Dubai RTA finished construction air conditioned road transport shelters

he Dubai Public Transport Agency RTA or Roads and Transport Authority has finished construction of 760 air conditioned road transport or bus shelters at 656 places in Dubai a completion rate as high as 97%, an operation rate reaching 81%, temporarily work is up and moving in finishing the remaining shelters the total of 971 shelters said in a report by Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, Director of Road transport or Bus Department at RTA.

This project is one of the planned projects undertaken by RTA to provide comfortable services to the users of public road transport or buses particularly during the high temperature in summer season as the shelters are fitted with air conditioners to provide a comfortable atmosphere for waiting commuters.

The main objective of launching this service is to entice the public to use public buses through providing innovative & cutting edge solutions offering passengers a comfortable environment while waiting for buses. The project plays a pivotal role in broadening, improving and integrating public transport sector spanning public road transport or buses, metro and marine transportation.

The RTA keep on presenting classy services Al Ali called on the users of air-conditioned bus shelters in Dubai to use these shelters in a right way, preserve their hygiene and abstain from tampering acts imposing losses on them. He particularly called on them not to depart the door unlock to damage the operation of the air conditioning or cooling system, and repeated them that shelters which ranked among the best services offered by the RTA to the public.

The RTA air conditioned bus shelters project is the first of its kind worldwide, and through this outstanding project RTA scraped GCC Engineering Unions Excellence and Innovation Award during the 12th GCC Gathering hosted by Qatar at 2008.
