The General Civil Aviation Authority or GCAA of Dubai announced on Sunday said that national air transport recording higher rates in February compared to last year. Growth was noted across all operations including aviation, air safety, licensing, aeromedical, infrastructure and transportation division.
The GCAAs February monthly reports confirm that air traffic plan was increased to 47,800 from 42,400 in February 2009. Average daily movements were 1,707 compared to 1,515 in the same month a year ago. Dubai ranked first with 21,847 travels, about 45.7% of the UAE total. Overflights were after that of 10,263, or 21.5%. Abu Dhabi ranked third with 7,128 flights and Sharjah International Airport was fourth with 4,955. Domestic flights among UAE airports were fifth with 2,889 movements and Fujairah International Airport hold 459.
The details show that GCAA direct the area in the application of air safety standards. It subject and changed 19 certificates for aircraft maintenance companies, 12 aircraft registration certificates and 34 airworthiness certificates.
For safety and infrastructure operations, GCAA performed 18 inspections of dangerous substance shippers and issued two new licences to dangerous substance shippers and one air operation certificate. It confirmed no safety destructions, but five destructions in relation to safety process.
The GCAA concern 35 air traffic controller licences prepared 144 aviation accident review reports and detained 28 meetings in safety and infrastructure operations. It also offers three training courses in February. GCAA sign two memorandum of accepting between the UAE and Australia and the Republic of Yemen.
