BMW the Germany auto maker has released the first official particulars about the facelifted 2011 BMW X5. The car makes its first debut at the New York Auto Show. The X5 contains fresh bumpers, extra body color accents, modified wheels, new headlights, relocated fog lights, and redesigned taillights.
The X5 xDrive50i boasts a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 which produces 300 kW or 400 HP and 400 Nm of torque. Thanks to this powerful engine, the X5 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h or 155 mph. It consumes an average of 12.5 liters/100 kilometers or 19 mpg and produces 292 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
In the BMW X5 xDrive40d, the engine produces 225 kW or 302 hp and 600 Nm of torque. It runs from 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 236 km/h or 147 mph. The average fuel consumption of the car is 7.5 liters/100 kilometers or 31 mpg, while CO2 release come in at 198 g/km.
In the X5 xDrive30d, the engine produces 180 kW or 241 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, before peak at 222 km/h or 138 mph is the efficient engine which uses an average of 7.4 liters/100 kilometers or 32 mpg and produces 195 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
The car engines are backed up by an 8-speed automatic transmission for dazzling changing dynamics, optimized efficiency and the maximum degree of comfort. The xDrive50i and the xDrive40d consist of a more neutral all-wheel drive system, revised spring, damper settings and a new speed-dependent Servotronic steering system.
The car has a new iDrive system with 6.5-inch display and 8.8-inch display as optional. BMW added new optional equipments such as active-ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panorama glass roof, 4-zone automatic climate, and a DVD entertainment system. The X5 is equipped with a head-up display, adjusted bending headlights, high beam assistant, park distance control, turn around camera, active cruise control with a stop and go, track exit caution system, and a speed limit information display.
