Mazda revealed 2011 Mazda5 before debut at Geneva Motor Show

Mazda the Japanese auto maker has revealed the first images and information of the third generation 2011 Mazda5, before its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The car is available for sale in Europe this year itself.

The 2011 Mazda5 car is powered with a new 2.0-liter 4 cylinder direct inject gasoline engine that is equipped with an engine start-stop system which is called as i-stop. The fuel consumption ratings of the car were not released. Moreover Mazda will also present a 1.8-liter petrol engine with 6 speed manual transmission which generates 115 hp or 85 kW and 165 Nm of torque.

 The redesigned 2011 Mazda5 features Mazda Nagare Flow design, with dual-sliding rear doors, and sit up to seven. "Our main goal with the all-new Mazda5, was to develop a new C-MAV or C-segment Multi Activity Vehicle that combines the superior environmental performance these times demand with a new expression in stylish design."  said in a report by Mazda5 Program Manager Hideki Matsuoka.

Mazda said in a report that the engine will create the Mazda5 "one of the most frugal and clean C-MAVs on the market, achieving about 15% decrease in CO2 emissions compared to the 2.0-liter petrol it replaces."
