RUF electric sports car manufacturer has revealed "Stormster", the new electrically driven SUV base on the Porsche Cayenne. RUF introduced the first electric sports car eRUF in October 2008. In March 2009 Geneva Motor Show RUF released the development of the first eRUF, widely known as "Greenster".
The Stormster is powered by a Siemens electric motor, with 270 kW and 367 bhp as in the eRUF sports car. The whole weight of the car is around 2,670 kg which should be able to achieve 100 km/h in only 10 seconds. The high speed of the car is 150 km/h, which is able to achieve a range of 200 km at one charge.
The lithium ion batteries are produced by Li-Tec Battery GmbH. Li-Tec is the first producer of lithium ion battery in Europe which is designed for the automobile industry by using ceramic storage technology. Hankook produced the winter tires for all the wheels to drive the Stormster which is equipped to RUF classic 5 spoke lightweight wheels. The size of tires are 295/30 R 22 which gives the excellent feasible road grip.
The Stormster will have its first appearance on the European Climate Change Conference from December 7th to 18th which is held in Copenhagen in Denmark.
