U.S. automobile sector slowdown affects Tomkins profits

LONDON: British engineering firm Tomkins Plc. posted a 22 per cent decline in its third quarter profit, affected by the weakened North American markets. The company, a major supplier of automotive and air conditioner parts, said its pre-tax profits fell from 72.3 million pounds to 56.3 million pounds, while revenue stood at 812.7 million pounds, down 1 per cent.
