In the next one year, engineering students in the country would be very busy designing and building automobiles, to compete in 'Baja', launched by the Society of Automobile Engineers (SAE) India in the Capital this Friday.

As part of this competition, the students would design and then build an off-road vehicle that would be very safe and survive the test of rough terrain. After an initial screening, which would restrict the number of teams to 25, the students would be expected to develop a vehicle.

They will also have to generate financial support for their project. Each team's goal is to design and then to build a prototype of a rugged single seat, off road recreational four-wheel vehicle.
